Chemical Engineering| Student Leader | Brewing Enthusiast
Tech Aficionado | Political Junkie
Hi there! My name is Chen Liang, and I was raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Being attached to home, I decided to attend the University of Alberta, and am currently pursuing a BASc in Chemical Engineering Coop. Upon graduation, I would like to pursue an opportunity in the field of energy, mining, water/waste treatment, and consulting.
While at university, I like to spend my spare time volunteering and getting involved with the community. I have served as the President of Chemical Engineering Students’ Society and the Organizing President of AIESEC Canada’s Western Regional Conference.
Outside of school, I like to keep up with politics, read up on new tech, or write a new blog.
My hobbies are diverse: I love the game of basketball and NBA. I also enjoy diverse ethnic food, exploring the world, and card games.
In Winter 2017, I began working for Nexen Energy ULC as a Facilities Engineering and Projects Co-op Student for the Aurora LNG project.
In Winter 2016, I worked at Shell Canada, as a Process Engineering Intern for the Shell Albian Sands operations.
In Winter 2015, I worked at Slave Lake Pulp, a Division of West Fraser Mills Ltd, as a Project Engineering Student for the Biomethanation and Power Generation project.
In Summer 2014, I worked at Randstad, as a Recruitment Specialist for their South Edmonton location.
Since Fall 2013, I have been enrolled at the University of Alberta in a Bachelors of Applied Science Degree of Chemical Engineering Co-op.
